Nadia Sablin was a very interesting
speaker. I loved hearing her story and did not want it to end. I know there
have been ups and downs in her life but I almost wish I could live in her
shoes. I love to travel and hear others
stories of people in different countries. I think it’s awesome that she comes
up with an idea and makes a story out of it. So many people around the world
have a story and she is able to capture some. I hope to someday have a job like
hers. I think it was neat how she took pictures of specific people each year.
Those people will really cherish those images. For Nadia to be able to tell a
story of those people throughout the years with pictures is pretty amazing. She
seems like a really easy and honest person to talk to which is an advantage
when asking others if she can take their picture. The way Nadia is able to tell
the story of her aunts is unique. Especially since they do not express emotion.
So Nadia being able to sort of capture their life and emotion through pictures
is unique. Although her aunts emotions may not be outwardly expressed, there is
still parts to be seen through their actions. I was interested when we talked
about her funding because that was one of my questions. I would love to hear
more about her funding including more about how to get grants. Being a
photographer and traveling the world is very expensive and you wonder how they
can do it. I would love to travel to 3rd world countries telling
people stories but I always wonder how I would be able to fund the trips. Its
cool to see how she is making money doing what she loves to do. My dream is to
travel the world sharing the love of God with people, helping them, providing
resources and tell their story through pictures. Hearing her story makes my
dream seem possible.
